Anna and John were married on a beautiful Friday in Wilmington, North Carolina.

Their day was overflowing with love from sunrise to sunset. The sun rose into a clear blue sky while birds sang and soared overhead. The ocean welcomed their celebration, playful and promising against the shore. I loved the spirit in the ripples of the waves, making patterns and then undoing them, rushing out and then back in.

It was immediately evident to me just how much these two love, and how deeply they are loved. Every conversation I had held admiration for them, and every moment between Anna and John felt loving and excited, yet steady – full of tears of joy, laughter, and countless hugs.

Their intimate ceremony was held at the historic Burgwin-Wright House and Gardens, just a few blocks from the beautiful riverwalk along the Cape Fear River. The sun warmed the garden’s greens, and the day felt full of rich, loving energy. Their celebration carried well past the ceremony and into a night of dancing.

I have so much gratitude for these two – for welcoming me into their celebration, for laying their joy out right in front of me, and for trusting me to reflect it back to them in the best way I know how.
